Welcome to Yelloux Cove
Yelloux Cove is where caregiving, mental health, everyday life, creativity, and the fight to remain yourself all meet.
We are a mother-daughter team who have lived the realities of family caregiving since 2012. We know what it means to have life change without warning, to navigate complicated systems, and to carry responsibilities that much of the world never sees.
We also know that no person should disappear inside the role of caregiver.
Yelloux Cove was created from that truth.
This is a space for honest stories, useful resources, thoughtful conversations, personal reflection, wellness, creativity, and the parts of life that still matter even when your time, energy, and attention are stretched thin.
We do not have every answer. We are simply willing to speak honestly about what we have lived, what we have learned, and what needs to change.
Caregivers Are Whole People
Caregiving can become part of your life without becoming the entirety of who you are.
Caregivers are artists, professionals, parents, siblings, students, advocates, homebodies, travelers, dreamers, and people still trying to figure out what comes next. We care about our families, but we also care about beauty, music, good food, personal style, rest, laughter, purpose, and having something that belongs to us.
We are not saints. We are not machines. And we are not endlessly strong.
We are human beings living layered lives.
Yelloux Cove makes room for all of those layers—the exhaustion and the humor, the anger and the tenderness, the responsibility and the desire for more.
Honest Conversations About Mental Health
Our caregiving experience has included supporting a loved one living with a severe mental health condition and trying to navigate systems that too often leave individuals and families without clear answers, meaningful support, or a voice in the process.
Those experiences shaped the way we understand mental health advocacy.
We believe people receiving care deserve dignity, thoughtful treatment, and the opportunity to participate in decisions about their lives whenever possible. We believe family caregivers deserve information, communication, and support. We also believe institutions should be held accountable when their policies and practices cause harm.
At Yelloux Cove, we talk about the realities families are often expected to manage quietly. We examine the systems surrounding mental health care, share lived experiences, and ask the questions that are too often ignored.
Real Life Belongs Here
Yelloux Cove is not built around perfection, performance, or pretending that everything can be solved with a positive attitude.
Life is more complicated than that.
Here, caregiving and mental health can exist beside home, wellness, creativity, identity, relationships, personal growth, and joy. One part of life does not erase all the others.
You will find stories and resources created for people whose money, time, energy, and attention may already be stretched. You will also find room to think, question, laugh, rest, create, and reconnect with the person you are beyond what life requires from you.
Why Yelloux Cove Exists
Because caregivers deserve more than sympathy.
Because mental health conversations need lived experience alongside professional expertise.
Because people should not have to lose themselves while caring for someone they love.
Because difficult lives can still contain beauty, humor, imagination, and meaning.
And because sometimes we all need a place that acknowledges the truth without asking us to remain trapped inside the hardest parts of it.
Welcome to Yelloux Cove.
A space for real life, honest care, and the whole person living through it.
From the Blog to the Foundation
Yelloux Cove began as a blog—a place to share the realities of family caregiving, mental disability, and the social issues connected to both. It gave us somewhere to speak honestly about experiences we rarely saw represented and the gaps families encounter while trying to find meaningful help.
The Yelloux Cove Foundation came later, from the question of what more we could do. After years of searching for support that often did not exist in the form families needed, creating a nonprofit became our way of trying to build something different.
Yelloux Cove Foundation
The Yelloux Cove Foundation is the nonprofit advocacy and service arm connected to this larger vision. It is a legally separate organization focused on supporting family caregivers and addressing the gaps that exist across mental health care, disability services, healthcare systems, crisis response, public policy, and the broader structure of family caregiving. Our work is shaped by the barriers families face when trying to access treatment, communicate with providers, understand their rights, navigate consent and decision-making issues, and keep loved ones with mental disabilities from falling through systems that are often disconnected or unprepared to meet their needs.
The Foundation is currently in its early development stage. We offer free caregiver tools and printable resources while continuing to build program models, educational initiatives, and advocacy projects based on what families in these situations actually need. Some of those programs have already been designed in blueprint form and are waiting for the funding, partnerships, and capacity needed to bring them to life.
